Make sure your scanner is plugged into aha-2940aj SCSI card before you turn your system on you are probably already doing this as SCSI devices are not detected if turned on after the system has booted. Press it to reboot to the "Startup Settings" screen and on it press either 7 or F7 on your keyboard to boot Windows 8 with its driver signature enforcement disabled.
