Found that Kprobe and the LiteOn Booktype utilities recognize the drive, but have not tried the bitsetting yet. Never any coasters and only issues with errors came from crap media. Also, at this time, there are no firmware updates on Digitalmax's site. Ive burned at least dvd-r with this drive and have had great results.

No rating because I've only done limited testing and haven't burned anything over 4x speed due to lack of media. Being able to flash it to the lite-on s was a pleasant surprise.

Could someone please post the steps to cross-flash the drive 3s1663 LiteOn S. I tried the lite-on 8x disc with the package, no problem.
